V0.0.4 - Fixin' More Bugs
With every new addition and every test, more and more bugs are found. This is a blessing and a curse to a developer; finding a bug is always upsetting, but always another opportunity to polish the game and make it better. This update today is primarily bug fixes; but a lot of them. It is my goal to never let my tech debt get too far out of control, so occasionally I will prioritize tackling my list of bugs in a single update, though I try to nip them in other updates as best I can as well.
The next update will be aiming for fixing biomes, adding new ones, and some more cities on other planets to enjoy.
Synthaar V.0.0.4 Change Log:
[ADDED] You can now disable character aging in the gameplay options.
[ADDED] Added CTRL + S Hotkey for saving on the fly.
[ADDED] A button exists to re-open the game message window so long as there's messages to see.
[FIXED] Characters can now perform flirtatious interactions with characters they're attracted to.
[FIXED] Trees and bushes now display a color in their icons and blueprint before being placed.
[FIXED] Changing the species of a character no longer carries the colors of the previous species into the new one.
[FIXED] Characters no longer try to go to work automatically if they are loaded in or take a job before the final hour of the job.
[FIXED] Items placed on tables should adjust their height to the height of the table's surface.
[FIXED] Water in a lot now has the color of the planet's water, instead of generic blue.
[FIXED] Characters no longer move to the edge of the tile when pathing to a tile they're already standing on.
[FIXED] The blueprint hologram when placing an object now accurately renders the models and textures of the item.
[FIXED] Corrected an issue where bushes and other plants were not recieving and applying lightmap coloring.
[FIXED] Personality points are now appropriately capped to a certain amount in character creation.
[FIXED] Objects in build mode are now displayed in order from lowest price to highest price.
[FIXED] Animations no longer play while the game is paused.
[FIXED] Two people can now sleep side by side in a double bed.
[FIXED] Characters automatically get out of bed when sleeping is cancelled.
[FIXED] Characters no longer snap to 0,0 when getting out of bed.
[FIXED] You can no longer build walls and floors outside of your lot's buildable zone.
[FIXED] Improved Object Icon rendering
[FIXED] Characters now correctly align themselves with their bed's rotation when they sleep.
[FIXED] The first plant planted in a lot now renders correctly.
[FIXED] Characters no longer get stuck in their walking animation if their movement task was cancelled.
[FIXED] Objects bigger than 1x1 in footprint size can no longer be placed over the edge of the buildable zone.
[CHANGED] A new sprite is used to mark the selected character.
[CHANGED] Plates of food now destroy themselves when there's no more food on them. (WIP)
[CHANGED] New character clothing has randomized colors in the Legacy creator.
[CHANGED] Saving from the Game Menu now closes the Game Menu.
