V0.1.4 - Zegrels, fixes, & a planet!


Time for another update as Synthaar is rolling closer and closer to hitting Milestone 2! I've been doing some strategizing on how to approach the next few updates, in order to try and get Synthaar capable of every major gameplay feature working sooner than later, besides higher concept end goals, like galactic domination. However, with this update, I wanted to include a new species and a new planet to help showcase the breadth of the game's variety. With the Zegrels implemented, I have fewer barriers to include a handful of more species over the next few updates, though I am trying to remain focused on gameplay implementation and feature polishing over dumping too much content into the game. 

I'll be continuing to work on bugfixes and more framework implementation for the next update, but I'll be focusing on completing the last couple of features to push the game over the next Milestone, such as memories, adopting children, and being able to save and place lot templates into the world.

  • New Species: Zegrel
  • New Planet: Rauren

[CHANGED]

  • Sunlight color can now be set as a gradient in biome options for more variety
  • The reputation window has been refactored into the combat window
  • Remade certain color palettes
  • Relationship window is now sorted by proximity and relation

[FIXED]

  • Aloctriem's Texture should render correctly. 
  • Game correctly saves the last galaxy as the new galaxy on initialization
  • Baby portraits should now always have eyes
  • Children portraits appropriately render their hair
  • Sound busses now correctly save and apply in-game when editing volume
  • Family tree window no longer goes haywire under certain resolutions
  • Comm terminal sorting buttons now work appropriately
  • Wall build cursor appropriately scales its height to different levels
  • Items should no longer be usable if they don't have the required power/water
  • Characters no longer get confused when trying to eat a meal
  • Certain biomes should not create an absurd amount of trees
  • Coworker and Boss relationship requirements are now actual values
  • When building without a legacy, lights automatically turn on
  • Characters now validate their location on moving into a new lot
  • Visitors will no longer steal your food and sleep in your beds
  • Animations no longer play at varying speeds based on framerate
  • Characters face their used object when using them
  • Character direction math has been improved and corrected
  • Hidden objects, i.e. on different floors, no longer block raycasts
  • The galactic ambient noise should play when starting the game
  • Fixes to character rendering sort order
  • Meshes no longer import mirrored
  • Civilians are appropriately assigned to their workplace on generation
